Believing and Embracing the Call
Front Lines - Believing and Embracing the Call
Judges 6:12, 15 NIV
"When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, 'The Lord is with you, mighty warrior…' Pardon me, my lord,' Gideon replied, 'but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.'"
The journey from doubt to belief is a crucial aspect of Gideon's story. In our own lives, we often face similar struggles to embrace the call and authority God has placed upon us. God's word encourages us to move from doubt to belief, trusting in God's plan for victory.
Gideon's initial response reflected his insecurities and a doubtful mindset. Likewise, when we doubt our calling, we limit God's ability to work through us. It's time to shed our doubts, understand our authority, and embrace the call with belief.
Belief in the call is a transformative shift. Gideon's journey included testing the Lord multiple times, but as God proved Himself faithful, Gideon's doubt turned into belief. Likewise, we must shift our mindset, believing in the authority given to us by God. Our thoughts about ourselves are so crucial, we have to pray for the ind of Christ, because as Proverbs 23:7 teaches, "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he."
Closing Prayer:
Lord, help us move from doubt to belief in the call You've placed on our lives. Just as Gideon underwent a transformation, may our minds be renewed to see ourselves as victorious and empowered. May our belief in Your call be evident in our actions. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
