Embracing God's Victory
Front Lines - Embracing God's Victory in Small Beginnings
Judges 7:2 & 7 NIV
"The Lord said to Gideon, 'You have too many men. I cannot deliver Midian into their hands, or Israel would boast against me, 'My own strength has saved me… The Lord said to Gideon, 'With the three hundred men that lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hands. Let all the others go home.'"
God's tendency to work wonders with small beginnings challenges our conventional thinking. God chooses the foolish things to count the wise because he will share the Glory with no one, and His victories should ultimately point people back to Him!
God's wisdom transcends our understanding in a culture that often values size, numbers, and influence. Gideon's story teaches us the importance of surrender and trust, even when our circumstances don't add up to a logical victory in our minds. Victory begins with trusting God's strategy, no matter how unconventional.
God's ways are not ours, and victory often begins in unexpected and unconventional places. Just as Gideon's small army brought about significant triumph, our surrender to God's plan, no matter how radical, can lead to mighty victories in our spiritual battles.
"Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin..." (Zechariah 4:10 NLT)
Closing Prayer:
Lord, teach us to embrace victory in small beginnings. Gideon's story reveals the power of surrendering to Your unconventional ways. May we trust in Your wisdom, even when our circumstances seem insignificant. Let us rejoice in the work that begins, knowing that You delight in our small steps toward victory. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
