Read Luke 22-24

Luke 23:39-43 (NIV)
"One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!” But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

In Luke's Gospel, we encounter the profound grace of Jesus extended even to those society deemed as outcasts. As Jesus hung on the cross, he showed compassion to a criminal who acknowledged his own guilt and reached out in faith.

This interaction exemplifies the inclusive nature of Jesus' ministry, where no one is beyond the reach of his love and forgiveness. Despite the man's past mistakes and societal status as a criminal, Jesus offers him the promise of salvation.

As followers of Christ, we are called to embrace the outcast and extend God's grace to all. We are reminded that no one is beyond redemption, and it is our privilege to share the hope found in Jesus Christ with those who feel marginalized or rejected.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for the boundless grace and mercy demonstrated through your Son, Jesus Christ. Help us to follow his example by extending compassion and forgiveness to those who feel outcast. May we be agents of reconciliation and hope, sharing the message of your love with all whom we encounter. Amen.
