Embracing God's Unbelievable Plans
Acts 13:40-41 NIV
"Take care that what the prophets have said does not happen to you: ‘Look, you scoffers, wonder and perish, for I am going to do something in your days that you would never believe, even if someone told you.’"
Have you ever had someone tell you something so crazy, or had thoughts about your future that seemed absolutely absurd and outlandish? Has the Holy Spirit ever spoken something to you so big that you thought there is no way this could ever happen? Not in my lifetime! Not me! You got the wrong person! I am incapable!
If you would have told me at 13 years old that I would be a pastor, I would have laughed at you, and anyone that knew me would have laughed at you, because the word didn’t line up with my current trajectory. People who knew me as a young man who come across my Facebook page are probably dumbfounded that I am a pastor based on who I was before I met Christ! If you would have told me as a 15-year-old who said yes to a call to ministry that I would go coast to coast preaching the gospel I wouldn’t have believed it! If you would have told me that I would have a hand in putting on youth conferences for over 10,000 teenagers, I wouldn’t have believed it!
God wants to give us a vision so big, a plan so large, that it is only possible through the power of the Holy Spirit! I wonder what God is trying to do in your life, but you just don’t have faith to believe it! Here in Acts 13, God was trying to bring salvation to the Jews in Pisidia, but they did not have faith to believe! God was trying to bring a revival to this region, yet they did not have faith to believe!
What things in life have we missed out on because we simply didn’t have faith to believe? What has God tried to do around us, that we never saw happen because we couldn’t wrap our minds around what God was trying to accomplish? The key is to trust and have faith in God's plan, no matter how unbelievable it may seem. God is still at work today, just as He was in the days of the early church, performing acts that can leave us speechless. We must open our hearts to His will and allow the Holy Spirit to guide us in every step.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts open to Your incredible plans. Help us to trust and have faith in Your vision for our lives, no matter how unbelievable it may seem. Empower us through Your Holy Spirit to embrace and act upon Your will. Amen.
