Speak Boldly, Believe Deeply

Romans 10:14 (NIV)
"How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?"

If we truly believe something deeply, it will naturally spill out in our conversations. But when it comes to our faith, many of us remain silent. We talk about what we love, whether it’s a new restaurant, a favorite vacation spot, or a great experience we had. But when it comes to sharing the gospel—the most life-changing truth—we often hold back. This raises a critical question: If we’re not sharing our faith, do we believe it deeply? Silence about our faith can indicate a lack of confidence in the very thing we claim is the foundation of our lives.

One reason people don’t share their faith is fear—fear of rejection, judgment, or offending others. Yet, if we genuinely believe that the gospel is the power of God to save, shouldn’t that outweigh our fears? As Paul boldly declared in Romans 1:16, "I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes." If we believe this with conviction, we won’t be held back by fear or hesitation. Instead, our deep belief will compel us to speak boldly, knowing that the message we carry has the power to change lives.

When we speak about what we believe, we have the opportunity to transform hearts. The disciples in Acts 4 went from fearful men hiding in a room to boldly preaching about Jesus in public because they had encountered Him personally. They couldn’t help but share what they had seen and experienced. If we’ve truly been transformed by Christ, our natural response should be to share that with others. The question becomes: Is our faith so deeply rooted that we can’t help but share it? Or have we allowed fear or complacency to silence us?

Prayer:
Lord, give me the boldness to share my faith openly and fearlessly. I want my life to reflect a deep belief in Your gospel. Help me to recognize opportunities to speak about You, and fill me with the conviction that comes from truly knowing You. Let my faith be so alive in me that I cannot stay silent. Amen.
