You Must Experience This
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
When we experience a profound transformation through Christ, it’s impossible to keep it to ourselves. We want others to encounter the same life-changing power that set us free. Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that when we are in Christ, we become new creations—the old life is gone, and something entirely new begins. This kind of transformation is something we want others to experience, because it’s not just a temporary fix; it’s an eternal change. When our hearts are radically changed by God’s love and grace, we become passionate about seeing others encounter Him as well.
Sharing our personal experience with Christ is not just an obligation; it’s a privilege. The Gospel has the power to reach into the darkest places and bring hope and healing. When we remember what Christ has done for us, we are compelled to share that same hope with others who are lost, hurting, or searching for answers. Just like we tell others about a life-changing vacation or a great restaurant, we should be even more eager to share the one thing that has changed us forever—our relationship with Jesus. If we’ve been changed greatly, we will want others to experience that change too.
However, sometimes we can become complacent or fearful about sharing our faith. We worry about how others will respond, or we convince ourselves that someone else will reach them. But the truth is, God has uniquely positioned us to reach the people around us. Your story, your testimony, your personal encounter with Christ is something no one else can replicate. Just as Jesus sent His disciples out to make more disciples, we are called to do the same. Our desire should be that everyone we know and love would experience the same freedom and transformation we have found in Jesus.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for the radical transformation You have done in my life. Help me to remember the power of that change and to never take it for granted. Give me boldness to share my story and to invite others into a life-changing relationship with You. Let my life be a testimony of Your grace and let my heart be eager to see others experience the same freedom in Christ. Amen.
