Time to Get Up
Proverbs 24:16 (NIV):
"For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes."
Failure is not just an occasional event; it’s a guaranteed part of life. At some point, we’re all going to make mistakes, face setbacks, and fall short of what we hoped to accomplish. The real question isn’t if we will fall, but what we will do when it happens. Proverbs 24:16 reminds us that the righteous may fall seven times, but they get back up. Our resilience and willingness to rise again is what sets us apart. Falling is not the problem; it’s staying down that is.
Life is filled with moments when everything seems to collapse around us. We’ve studied, prepared, or prayed earnestly, only to see things not go according to plan. Perhaps it’s a spiritual fall—moments when we feel we’ve failed God, stumbled in our faith, or let ourselves down. But even in these moments, God’s call to us is to rise again. Falling is not the end. God’s grace allows us to dust ourselves off, stand up, and keep moving forward. It’s in these moments of restoration that His power is most clearly seen.
When we fall, it’s easy to give in to self-doubt, condemnation, and the lies that tell us we’re not worthy of God’s grace. But God is not surprised by our failures; He knows our weaknesses and provides the strength to rise. His grace doesn’t abandon us when we fail—it empowers us to get back up, time and time again. The beauty of the Christian walk is not perfection, but perseverance through grace.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Your grace that enables us to rise again when we fall. Help us to trust in Your strength rather than our own, knowing that You are with us even in our failures. Give us the courage to get back up every time we stumble and to walk confidently in Your love. In Jesus' name, Amen.
