On the Devil's Watch List
1 Peter 5:8 (NKJV)
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”
The reality of spiritual warfare is ever-present, and as believers, we must be aware that the enemy is actively seeking those whom he can influence and consume. However, there is a significant distinction between being on the devil's radar and being on his watch list. When we live authentically in the power of the Holy Spirit, we become threats to the enemy’s kingdom, prompting him to take notice. Our lives, filled with faith and purpose, can make us targets, not just for attacks, but also for divine assignments to impact the world around us.
To be on the devil's watch list means that we pose a genuine threat to his schemes. In Acts 19:15, the evil spirit acknowledges the authority of Jesus and Paul, saying, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?” This highlights the significance of living with the Holy Spirit's power. When we genuinely follow Christ and operate under His authority, the devil recognizes us. Our lives reflect the light of Christ, compelling the enemy to take notice. The question is not whether we are on his watch list, but rather what we are doing to ensure our presence is felt in the spiritual realm.
Living on the devil's watch list involves engaging in spiritual disciplines, pursuing holiness, and actively participating in God’s mission. We must remain vigilant and aware of our adversary, but also confident in the power that resides within us. As we grow in our relationship with Christ, we become equipped to counter the enemy's attacks. Remember, we are not powerless victims but empowered warriors in God’s kingdom, called to stand firm and advance the Gospel in a world desperately in need of hope.
Prayer:
Lord, grant us the strength and courage to live boldly for You, knowing that we may be targets of the enemy. Help us to remain vigilant in our faith, equipped with the power of the Holy Spirit, so we can make a lasting impact in this world. Amen.
