Adopted By Grace
John 1:12 (NIV)
"Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God."
Adoption is a powerful image of God’s grace. Through Christ, we are welcomed into God’s family, given the right to be called His children. This is not a title we earn but a gift we receive when we place our faith in Jesus. It’s a declaration that we belong to Him forever, not because of our worthiness, but because of His unchanging love and mercy.
As God’s adopted children, we are no longer defined by fear, shame, or our past. Instead, we are given a new identity in Christ—sons and daughters of the Most High. This intimate relationship invites us to call Him “Abba, Father,” embracing the fullness of His love and grace. Our adoption is not just a change in title but a transformation of heart, mind, and destiny.
Being part of God’s family is both a privilege and a responsibility. It assures us of eternal security while calling us to live as reflections of His grace in the world. As His children, we are equipped and empowered to walk confidently, knowing that our adoption into His family is eternal and irrevocable.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for adopting me into Your family and giving me the right to be called Your child. Help me to live in the confidence of Your love and the assurance of my identity in You. May my life reflect Your grace and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
