The Journey is Part of the Miracle

Luke 2:6
So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered.

The journey of Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem was not merely a geographic one but a divine unfolding of God’s plan. Mary, carrying the promise of the Savior, endured the long and arduous days of pregnancy, from morning sickness to the weariness of travel. These moments, though challenging, were essential steps toward the miracle of Jesus’ birth. God often works through processes, allowing the journey to shape us for the miracle ahead.

In our lives, the journey is often where God does His most profound work. It’s tempting to want to skip the hard days, to rush to the destination, but every step matters. Mary’s steps—literally and figuratively—prepared her to hold the Savior in her arms. Similarly, the struggles and waiting in our own lives are forming us, preparing us to receive God’s promises. He uses the mundane and the messy to shape our character, deepen our faith, and remind us that He is present in every moment.

When we embrace the journey, we open ourselves to the transformation God is working within us. The journey itself is part of the miracle. Just as Mary’s days were completed for her to deliver the Savior, God is completing something in you through your own daily steps. Trust Him, even in the hard days, knowing that He is leading you to a place of purpose and promise.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the journey You have placed me on. Help me to trust You in the process and embrace the lessons You are teaching me. Strengthen my faith and remind me that every step, even the hard ones, are part of Your miraculous plan. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
