God will Never Leave You
Hebrews 13:5 (NIV)
Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.
One of the most comforting promises in Scripture is that God will never leave us or forsake us. In the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, God’s presence was with them in the fiery furnace. Though they were bound and thrown into the flames, they were not alone. God Himself walked with them through the trial, and He is with us in our trials today.
When we face difficulty, whether it’s physical suffering, emotional pain, or spiritual battles, it’s easy to feel abandoned by God. But the reality is, He is always near, even when we don’t feel His presence. Just as He was with the three Hebrews in the fire, He walks with us through our trials. His promise to never leave or forsake us gives us the confidence to face the fire knowing that we are not facing it alone.
The story of Stephen, the first Christian martyr, is another reminder that even in our darkest moments, God is with us. As he was being stoned, Stephen gazed into heaven and saw Jesus standing at the right hand of God. Even in the face of death, God did not abandon him. Instead, Stephen was granted a vision of God’s glory, and he was filled with peace. This is the peace we can have, even in our trials: the knowledge that God’s presence is with us, and He will never leave us.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your constant presence. We are never alone because You are always with us. Help us to trust in Your faithfulness and feel Your presence more deeply in the midst of our trials. Amen.
