Without Faith You Can't Please God

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)
“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

The Christian walk is a walk of faith. It is through faith that we accept God’s promises, trust in His timing, and believe in His power to bring about what He has declared. The Bible makes it abundantly clear that without faith, it is impossible to please God. Hebrews 11:6 highlights that faith is not just about believing in God’s existence, but about trusting in His character—believing that He rewards those who diligently seek Him.

The Israelites in the wilderness provide a striking contrast to the kind of faith God desires. They had seen God’s miraculous power time and time again, yet they still struggled to trust Him. When faced with the giants in the Promised Land, their fear overtook their faith. They forgot the God who had delivered them from Egypt, parted the Red Sea, and provided for them in the wilderness. Their unbelief prevented them from walking into the fullness of God’s promise.

The question for us today is this: how often do we limit God because of our own lack of faith? Whether in our personal lives, our ministries, or our relationships, God is calling us to trust Him. He has already shown us His faithfulness, but He is waiting for us to act in faith and step into what He has prepared for us. Faith is not passive; it’s active and requires us to take bold steps, trusting that God will meet us where we are and lead us into what He has promised.

Prayer:
Father, we come to You with open hearts, desiring to grow in faith. Forgive us for the times we’ve let doubt and fear rule our hearts. Help us to trust You fully, knowing that without faith, we cannot please You. Strengthen our belief in Your promises and empower us to live by faith, trusting that You are faithful to fulfill every word You’ve spoken. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
