Carried to the Carrier

Mark 2:12 (NIV)
“He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, ‘We have never seen anything like this!’”

He came in broken, carried by others. But he walked out whole, carrying the very mat that once held him down. In an instant, everything changed. The same crowd that blocked the way now stood amazed at what God had done. That’s what happens when Jesus steps into the story—people are changed from the inside out.

But here’s the powerful part: this man’s story didn’t end with his healing—it began there. Because Jesus never just heals us for ourselves. He restores us so we can become restorers. The carried become the carriers. The rescued become the rescuers. The ones who needed help become the ones who now bring others to hope.

That’s the beauty of the gospel. You don’t have to be perfect to carry someone—you just have to be willing. And if you’ve ever been on that stretcher, you know what it means to be desperate, to be broken, to be dependent on someone else’s faith. That experience becomes fuel. Your healing becomes your calling. Your mat becomes your message.

So, who are you carrying now? Who’s on your heart? You don’t need a title or a platform—just a story, a stretch of faith, and a heart that says, “Jesus changed me… and I want that for you too.”

Prayer:

Jesus, thank You for saving me. Thank You for the people who carried me when I couldn’t carry myself. Now use my life to help others. Let my story be a signpost pointing to Your grace. Help me carry hope, healing, and truth to those who are hurting. I was once on the mat—but now I’ll carry the message. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
