Why It's a Good Friday

Mark 16:15 (NIV)
“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”

As we reflect on the death of Christ and the gravity of what He did for us on the cross, it’s easy to become overwhelmed by the significance of His sacrifice. But as we come to the realization of what Jesus accomplished, we also understand that His work is not just for us to hold onto—it’s for us to share. The gospel is not meant to be kept in a box, hidden away from the world. It is meant to be proclaimed, to be made known to all.

In Matthew 28:19, Jesus commissions His followers to “go and make disciples of all nations.” This command to evangelize is not just a suggestion; it’s a call to action. The death of Christ on the cross should compel us to tell others about the hope, grace, and salvation that He offers. It is through His sacrifice that we have been reconciled to God, and it is through our invitation that others can experience that same reconciliation.

In our day-to-day lives, we are surrounded by people who need to know about the transformative power of Jesus. The world is full of people who are searching for hope, meaning, and peace, and we have the answer. Our responsibility as believers is to invite others to see what Jesus did—not just on Good Friday, but in every aspect of His life, death, and resurrection. We are called to show others that Jesus isn’t just a figure in history; He is alive, and He is the answer to every need they have.

Our invitation should not be just a one-time event; it should be a lifestyle. Whether through a conversation, an act of kindness, or sharing our own story of how Jesus changed our lives, we are called to make it known. Jesus didn’t die so we could keep His love to ourselves—He died to make it available to everyone. Let’s live with the purpose of inviting others into His life-changing presence.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the incredible gift of salvation through Jesus. Help me to live in a way that invites others to see what He did for them. Give me boldness to share the gospel and a heart that is eager to see others come to know You. Let my life be a reflection of Your love, and may I never hold back the good news of what Jesus has done. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
