Waking Up Again

Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

Faith doesn’t begin when everything is clear. It begins when we choose to believe even when nothing makes sense. That’s what Hebrews 11:1 captures so powerfully. Faith is confidence in what we hope for. It’s assurance, not in what we see, but in what we trust. When hopelessness has clouded your thinking, when disappointment has dulled your senses, faith is what wakes you up again. Faith doesn’t ignore the facts, but it believes that God’s truth is greater than your current reality.

This isn’t just a spiritual principle. Neuroscience backs it up. When a person starts expecting good again, the brain begins releasing dopamine in advance of the outcome. The mind shifts from shutdown to motivation. Hope fuels the body to move, to try, to risk, and to believe. Expectation reengages the very systems that hopelessness shuts down. That’s why faith isn’t passive. It’s active. It primes your soul to move toward what God has for you.

You may feel like you’ve been sleepwalking through your season. But faith is the alarm clock. It stirs your heart. It opens your eyes. It reminds you that just because you haven’t seen it yet doesn’t mean God isn’t working. Faith dares to believe that something beautiful is still ahead, even if you can’t quite picture it yet.

God is calling you to wake up again. To shake off the dust of delay and the heaviness of heartbreak. To breathe in hope and lift your eyes. You’re not finished. And neither is He.

Prayer:
God, wake me up again. Stir my faith. Help me believe in what I cannot see. I choose to place my confidence in You, not in my circumstances. Reignite hope in my heart. Let expectation rise. Thank You for never giving up on me, even when I gave up on myself. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
