The DNA of Evangelism

Matthew 28:19–20 (NIV)
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

DNA carries the code for life. Every cell in your body contains a complete set of instructions for how to live, grow, and reproduce. When you came to Christ, His life was written into your spiritual DNA. If you are saved, you carry the DNA of Jesus, and His DNA was never focused inward. It was always aimed outward, reaching people in need of healing, hope, and salvation. That means His mission is now our mission.

Ephesians 2:10 tells us, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” We carry the code for eternal life. Many people around us are searching for identity, purpose, and worth, often in places that leave them empty. We hold the answer they are looking for. 1 John 5:11–12 says, “And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” If you have experienced the life-giving power of Jesus, you are holding the code that leads to salvation. It is not enough to be saved ourselves. There is a world dying without Christ, and we are called to share Him with them.

One of the primary roles of DNA is replication. For example, your skin renews itself every three to four weeks. New cells replace old ones so that life and health can continue. That is what healthy believers do. We reproduce spiritually by sharing the life of Christ we have received so that others can carry it too. If our faith is not reproducing in the lives of others, we have to ask, “Am I truly living out the DNA of Christ?”

The love of Jesus cost Him His life. If His DNA is in us, we should be willing to give up our pride, our comfort, and even our reputation to make Him known. The Gospel is not meant to stay locked inside of us. It is meant to spread like healthy DNA, creating new life wherever it goes.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for giving me new life in Jesus. I carry His DNA in my heart. Give me boldness to share the Gospel with those You place in my path. Help me to live in a way that points people to You so that Your life will be replicated in them too. Amen.
