Living a Life of Bold Witness

2 Timothy 4:2 KJV
"Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine."

The only way we can truly be ready in and out of season is by staying full of faith and prepared to operate in whatever God is calling us to do. As sports lovers know, the off-season is just as crucial as the regular season. Being a football fan, I understand that the off-season is a time for preparation, improvement, and rest. Cowboys fans might remember the year we drafted a talented running back who started strong but struggled later due to off-season issues. The off-season is for getting stronger, more focused, and ready for the challenges ahead.

You may be in a preparation season right now, but if you are putting in the work, you will be in a place to receive all that God has called you to do!

We must be ready in season and out of season! We have to stay prayed up! Read up! Fasted up! So, we are ready to receive and operate in all that God wants to do in us as a church!

Take David, for example. During his "off-season," he worshipped and tended to sheep, staying full of faith and God's spirit. This preparation allowed him to be ready when called upon, whether to defeat Goliath, lead worship for King Saul, or eventually become king. David was always prepared because he used his off-season wisely. It was only when he neglected this preparation that he faltered.

Make sure to invest in your spiritual "off-season." This means prioritizing regular times of prayer, Bible study, and rest. Stay connected to God and seek His presence continually, so when opportunities arise, you're ready to act. Remember, preparation isn't just about activity; it's also about resting in God and allowing Him to renew your strength and vision.

Prayer:
Lord, help us to be ready to preach Your word in every season of life. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit, giving us the boldness to witness for You at all times. Teach us to reprove, rebuke, and exhort with patience and sound doctrine, trusting in Your guidance and strength. Amen.
