The Role of the Spirit

Romans 8:26–27
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.

From the very beginning, our foundation has never just been prayer and the Word in isolation—it has always been the Spirit breathing life into them. Prayer without the Spirit becomes ritual. The Word without the Spirit becomes information. But when the Spirit fills both, they become power, direction, and life.

That’s why we say prayer and the Word are not optional accessories; they are our DNA. They’re what God has woven into the foundation of this church. We don’t want a man-made structure built on strategy and personality; we want a Spirit-led movement built on His presence and truth.

This is the “why” behind our value: prayer and the Word working together, Spirit-led, form the bedrock of everything we do. It’s not glamorous, but it’s powerful. It’s not flashy, but it’s unshakable. If the foundation is strong, the house can withstand any storm.

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, breathe on my prayers. Breathe on the Word as I read it. Don’t let me settle for ritual or routine. Build my life—and our church—on a Spirit-led foundation that cannot be shaken. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
