Power to Break Chains
John 8:36
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
Last night as the Men of Nehemiah lifted their voices, you couldn’t help but sense the weight of chains falling to the ground. These weren’t polished performances; they were declarations of freedom. Every note carried the story of men who had been bound by addiction, shame, and despair, yet had found a power stronger than any substance or struggle—the power of Jesus Christ.
Addiction is a cruel master. It whispers lies of satisfaction but delivers slavery. Many of us know what it feels like to be trapped by something—whether it’s an addiction, a destructive habit, or even a cycle of fear. But the testimonies we heard remind us that Christ doesn’t just loosen chains—He shatters them completely. True freedom is not about willpower or programs alone; it’s about the Son setting us free.
The beauty of freedom in Christ is that it’s not temporary. A relapse, a stumble, or a setback doesn’t disqualify you from His grace. What the Men of Nehemiah declared with their lives last night is this: freedom is a person. Freedom has a name. And His name is Jesus.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that in You we find true freedom. Break the chains that still hold us back—whether visible or hidden. Help us walk in the fullness of Your freedom, declaring with our lives that You are greater than our struggles. We believe You are the chain-breaker. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
