Redeem Your Time

Nehemiah 3:28 (NKJV)
Beyond the Horse Gate the priests made repairs, each in front of his own house.

When Nehemiah led the rebuilding of Jerusalem’s wall, he didn’t assign everyone to fix everything. Each family worked on the section right in front of their own house. And in just 52 days, the wall was completed. How? Because everyone gave their time to their part.

God isn’t asking you to fix the whole world. He’s asking you to steward the time He’s given you for the part that’s in front of you. Paul told us to redeem the time, because the days are evil. In other words, don’t waste your life on things that don’t matter. Invest your time into what builds the Kingdom.

Time is one of the most valuable things you can give, because once it’s spent, you never get it back. When you give your time to God’s purposes — serving, discipling, loving others — you are building something eternal, just like the people who built the wall.

Prayer
Lord, teach me to number my days and redeem my time. Help me see the section of the wall in front of me, and give me the strength to build faithfully. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
