Return to Witnessing
Revelation 2:7 (NKJV)
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.
The final step in returning to our first love is witnessing. When you first gave your life to Christ, you couldn’t keep quiet. You told friends, family, even strangers what Jesus had done for you. That boldness wasn’t forced — it flowed from love. Witnessing isn’t just about others hearing the gospel; it’s about your love for Jesus being rekindled as you declare His goodness.
The Ephesian church was commended for their works and discernment, but Jesus reminded them that love must be the motive. When we share our testimony, when we tell someone what God has done in our lives, our passion grows. It’s like pouring fuel on a fire. You remember His faithfulness, others see His power, and together faith is stirred. Silence suffocates love, but testimony fans it into flame.
Notice the promise Jesus gives: to those who overcome, He will give the right to eat from the tree of life. That’s eternal fellowship, eternal intimacy, eternal love. Witnessing is not just about here and now — it’s about pointing others toward eternity. Every time you tell your story, you are inviting someone else to share in the life of Christ.
If your love feels cold, open your mouth. Tell someone about what Jesus has done for you. As you speak, you’ll find your own heart warming again. Love grows when it’s shared.
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for saving me and giving me a story to tell. Forgive me for the times I’ve kept silent when I should have spoken of Your goodness. Give me courage and boldness to share my testimony, not out of duty but out of love. Use my words to draw others to You, and let my witness rekindle my first love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
