Remember What You Received

Revelation 3:3
Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent.

When Jesus told Sardis to remember, He was calling them to look back to where life began. He was not asking them to do something new, but to return to something real. The Spirit that once filled them had not left; they had simply stopped responding. Sometimes we lose passion not because God moved away from us, but because we drifted away from Him. Revival begins when we remember what we have already received.

Spiritual amnesia is dangerous. When we forget what God has done, we stop expecting what He can do. Sardis had received truth, power, and the presence of the Holy Spirit, but they had forgotten the source. The call to hold it fast meant to cling tightly, to grip what they once treasured. Repentance was not meant to be a punishment; it was an invitation to return to their first love.

There are moments when God does not speak something new because He wants us to remember what He already said. The same Spirit that once filled you is still available today. Go back to the altar where you once encountered Him. Remember what burned in you before life became routine. What God started in you is still alive, waiting to breathe again.

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, help me remember the moments when You moved powerfully in my life. Bring me back to that place of hunger and surrender. Teach me to hold fast to Your Word and to never forget what I have received from You. Amen.
