Open Doors, God's Purpose

Revelation 3:8
See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.

When Jesus spoke to the church in Philadelphia, He wasn’t offering them comfort; He was offering them calling. The open door wasn’t a promise of easier days or personal blessing; it was a reminder that heaven had given them an assignment. They were a gateway city, strategically positioned to spread the gospel beyond their walls. And just like them, God places open doors in front of us—opportunities to bring His kingdom where it’s never been.

Too often, we mistake an open door as a path to convenience. We pray for God to open doors that align with our dreams, our timing, and our plans. But God’s open doors are about His purpose. They’re about reaching people, shifting culture, and advancing His mission through our obedience. When we walk through those doors, we discover that divine opportunities aren’t about elevation; they’re about assignment.

When we attach our opportunity to obedience, we step into the unstoppable work of God. No person, no system, and no opposition can shut what He opens. The real question is whether we will have the faith to walk through it.

Prayer:
Lord, help me see the doors You’ve opened, not for my plans but for Your purpose. Give me courage to walk through what You’ve set before me and to trust that what You open, no one can shut. Amen.
