God Gives Keys for People, Not Power
Matthew 16:19
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
God doesn’t give us authority to build our own platforms but to serve His purpose and people. The keys of the kingdom are not about control; they are about compassion. Every bit of influence or opportunity He gives is a chance to open doors for others to experience His grace.
Peter’s confession that Jesus is the Christ became the foundation of the Church. Those keys were never meant to be held tightly but used to unlock the freedom of salvation for others. The authority Jesus gives His people is always for the advancement of His mission, not for personal promotion.
We live in a world that prizes status and visibility, but heaven values humility and faithfulness. God entrusts His keys to those who understand that power is never the goal—people are.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to use what You’ve given me to serve others, not myself. Teach me to see every opportunity as a chance to unlock heaven for someone else. May my life bring glory to You and lead others to Your kingdom. Amen.
