The Weight of Sacrifice

Romans 12:1
“Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.”

Serving God is not glamorous. It is not always emotional. It is not always inspiring. Sometimes it looks like waking up early, staying late, carrying equipment, loading trailers, teaching kids, or doing things that no one else sees. Yet Scripture tells us that sacrifice is worship. When you give your time, your effort, your comfort, and your convenience to God, heaven sees it as an offering. God honors offerings.

The altar has always been the place where God meets His people. Every sacrifice laid on the altar throughout Scripture resulted in God responding by fire, by blessing, by movement, or by power. Today, we do not lay animals on an altar. We lay ourselves. Our preferences. Our desires. Our comfort. Our time. When we offer those things with a willing heart, God meets us there.

Some of the greatest fruit in your life will come from the sacrifices nobody else applauds. God sees every moment of obedience, and He multiplies every act of faithfulness. Your sacrifice is making room for someone else’s miracle. Your yes is opening the door for someone else’s salvation. Your service is building an atmosphere where lives can be restored.

Prayer:

Father, I offer myself as a living sacrifice today. Let my serving be worship. Let my obedience be pleasing to You. Strengthen me to keep going, keep giving, and keep serving. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
