Humility Attracts Grace
James 4:6
“God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
Fasting has a way of stripping us down to what is real. Without comfort, routine, or distraction, pride becomes easier to see. Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it is recognizing your need for God. Scripture is clear that humility attracts grace. Not effort. Not intensity. Humility.
Grace is not earned through fasting, but fasting often reveals how much grace we actually need. When we humble ourselves before God, we create space for Him to work in ways we cannot manufacture. God is not drawn to performance. He responds to surrender.
This fast is not about how strong you are. It is about how willing you are.
Reflection
What has fasting revealed about your need for God?
Where might pride be quietly resisting grace in your life?
Prayer
God, I humble myself before You. I acknowledge my need for Your grace, strength, and mercy. Remove pride from my heart and teach me to walk in humility. I trust You to work in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Today’s Action
Confess one area where you have relied on pride instead of prayer and surrender it to God.
