Don't Lose Heart

Read: Hebrews 12:3 (Read it slowly. Read it again.)

Hebrews 12:3
“Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”

Hebrews ends this section with a warning and a promise.

Weariness is real.
Losing heart is possible.
Faith can feel heavy when opposition lasts longer than expected.

That’s why the writer gives us one final instruction. Consider Him.

To consider Jesus is more than remembering a story. It means to carefully think about, to weigh, to reflect deeply. It is intentional focus. When we grow weary, it is often because our focus has drifted.

Jesus endured rejection, betrayal, injustice, suffering, and the cross itself. He was not spared opposition. He faced it fully. And yet He did not quit.

The purpose of considering Jesus is not to make us feel guilty for our struggles. It is to remind us that endurance is possible. Jesus does not stand at the finish line disappointed. He stands there having already run the race for us and with us.

This week, you laid something down. You cast weight onto God. That does not mean the temptation to pick it back up will disappear. But it does mean you now know where to take it when the weight returns.

Perspective is sustained by focus.

When your heart feels tired, look to Jesus.
When the race feels long, look to Jesus.
When the weight feels heavy again, look to Jesus.

He is faithful to carry what you release.

Reflect
•Where have you felt weary or close to losing heart?
•What has been drawing your focus away from Jesus?
•How can you intentionally consider Him this week?

Prayer
Jesus, I choose to fix my eyes on You.
When I feel tired, remind me of Your faithfulness.
When I feel overwhelmed, help me release what I am carrying.
Strengthen my heart so I can continue to run with perseverance.
Thank You for enduring for me and with me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Action for Today
Choose one intentional way to consider Jesus this week.
It could be Scripture, worship, silence, or prayer.

Make it a habit, not a moment.
