Let Go of The Shore
Luke 5:4 (NIV)
“Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”
When Jesus spoke these words to the disciples, they had already spent the night fishing without success. Everything about the situation told them to stay where they were. Yet Jesus invited them to move deeper.
The miracle they experienced did not happen near the shore. It happened when they obeyed and pushed their boats into the deep water. The greatest catch of their lives came only after they trusted the voice of Jesus and moved beyond their comfort zone.
Many times we want God to perform miracles while we remain safely near the shore. But obedience often requires movement. It requires letting go of familiar ground and trusting the direction Jesus is leading.
The blessings God has prepared for your life may be waiting in deeper water. When you respond to His voice and move forward in faith, you position yourself to see Him work in ways you never imagined.
Prayer
Jesus, help me listen to Your voice and obey even when it challenges my comfort. Give me the courage to leave the shore and follow You wherever You lead. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
