Stones from the Middle
Joshua 4:3
“Take up twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan.”
God didn’t tell Israel to gather stones from the riverbank. He told them to go into the middle of the Jordan River and carry stones from the very place where the miracle happened. These stones were wet, heavy, and covered with mud. They were not polished or beautiful. But they were powerful because they came from the middle of the miracle.
Sometimes we want to clean up our testimony. We want to tell the story without the mess. But the power of a testimony is not found in perfection. It is found in the truth that God met us right in the middle of our struggle. The very places that felt overwhelming often become the places where God reveals His power.
Those stones from the Jordan reminded Israel that God stopped the waters and made a way where there was no way. Every time they looked at the memorial, they could remember the moment when God stepped into their situation and turned impossibility into victory.
The places where God meets us in the middle of our trials often become the strongest reminders of His faithfulness.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for meeting me in the middle of my struggles. Help me remember the ways You have carried me through difficult seasons. Use my story as a reminder of Your power and faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
