Reserved but Unused
Luke 19:31 (NIV)
“The Lord needs it.”
There is something frustrating about reserved seats that never get used. You walk into a packed room, people standing in the back, and the best seats sit empty because they are marked for someone who never shows up. The space had purpose. It had intention. It was set apart. But it remained unused.
If we are honest, that picture hits closer to home than we would like. God has placed purpose, calling, and influence inside of us, yet so much of it sits dormant. Not because we are incapable, but because we are unavailable. We allow distractions, comfort, and routine to take the place of obedience. What was meant to be used for God becomes something we simply hold onto.
When Jesus said, “The Lord needs it,” He revealed something powerful. God chooses to involve people in His plan. He invites us into what He is doing. That means your life is not random, and your position is not accidental. You have been placed where you are on purpose.
Today is a reminder that your life is not meant to sit reserved and unused. God has need of what He has placed inside of you. The question is whether you will step into it or continue to sit on the sidelines.
Prayer:
Lord, help me not to waste what You have placed in my life. I don’t want to sit on potential or live distracted. Make me available to You. Use my life for Your purpose. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
