It Is Finished

John 19:30 (NIV)
“It is finished.”

Good Friday is the day everything looked lost. Jesus was beaten, mocked, and crucified. The One they had followed, believed in, and trusted was hanging on a cross. It seemed like defeat. It felt like the end.

But what looked like loss was actually victory. When Jesus said, “It is finished,” He was not admitting defeat. He was declaring completion. The price for sin had been paid. The work of redemption had been accomplished. What no one else could do, He had done.

The cross is where freedom was secured. It is where chains were broken, sin was defeated, and grace was made available. Because of what Jesus did, we are no longer bound to our past. We are no longer defined by our failures. We are free.

Today, take time to reflect on the weight of the cross. Your freedom was not cheap. It cost Jesus everything. Let that truth sink in and shape how you live. You are free, not so you can stay the same, but so you can step into everything God has for you.

Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for the cross. Thank You for paying the price for my freedom. Help me never take it lightly. Teach me to live in the freedom You have given me and to honor You with my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
