COME AND SEE

Come, see a man who told me all that I ever did. Can this be the Christ? John 4:29

DEVOTIONAL
The woman at the well did not have all the answers. Moments earlier, she had been asking Jesus questions about worship, history, and theology. But after encountering Him, she left her water jar, returned to her city, and invited others to meet Him.

She simply said, "Come and see."

She didn't present a complicated argument. She told the truth about her encounter and gave people an opportunity to experienceJesus for themselves. John tells us that many Samaritans believed because of her testimony. She came to the well looking for water, but she left the well as a witness.

Her story reminds us that evangelism often happens most naturally through relationships and invitations. It can happen when a coworker shares that their marriage is struggling and you offer to pray. It can happen when a neighbor feels alone and you invite them into your small group. It can happen when a friend asks how you found hope during a difficult season and you tell them what Jesus did for you.

Sometimes the first step toward Jesus is accepting an invitation from someone they trust.

Never underestimate the power of a personal invitation. You may know what happens every Sunday at Restoration, but the person you invite may have never experienced genuine worship, biblical teaching, a welcoming community, or an opportunity to respond to the gospel. Your invitation could become the doorway through which they walk into an entirely different life.

Do not decide for someone else that they will say no. We often reject ourselves on their behalf before we ever extend the invitation. They may decline, but they may also have been waiting for someone to ask.

Our responsibility is not to pressure people. It is to love them, pray for them, and provide an opportunity. Like the woman at the well, we can simply say, "Come sit with me. Come meet my church family. Come hear what God has done. Come and see."

REFLECT
Who first invited me into a church or spiritual community?

Have I assumed someone would reject an invitation without asking them?

Who in my life may be more spiritually open than I realize?

TODAY'S STEP
Personally invite one person to attend church with you. Offer to meet them outside, sit beside them, and help them feel comfortable.

PRAYER
Jesus, thank You for inviting me to know You. Give me the courage to extend that invitation to someone else. Open my eyes to the people who are searching, hurting, or waiting for an opportunity. Help me invite with genuine love, without pressure, and trust You with their response. Amen.
