The Generous Life - Week 1
This week at Restoration, we kicked off a brand-new series called The Generous Life. We’re diving into what generosity really looks like — not just with our money, but with our time, our faith, and our heart.
We started in 2 Corinthians chapter 8, where Paul writes about the churches in Macedonia. These weren’t wealthy people. In fact, they were struggling. The Romans had taxed their region to the point of poverty, jobs were scarce, and following Jesus often meant being cut off socially and financially. Yet, Paul says that even in the middle of their hardship, their joy overflowed into generosity.
They didn’t give because life was good. They gave because God was good. Their circumstances said, “Hold back,” but their faith said, “Give anyway.” That’s the kind of heart this series is all about — generosity that flows out of grace, not guilt.
